What is a Superficial Chemical Peel?

Acids are used in a superficial chemical peel to intentionally and carefully damage a certain depth of skin. The skin cells peel off as a result of the acid rupturing the chemical links that hold them together. Any remaining epidermis is removed during superficial peels.

The goal is to deeply exfoliate the skin, which stimulates the formation of new epidermal tissue, collagen, and more uniformly dispersed melanin. The surface texture and look of the new skin are improved.
